For the next five weeks, the students will be learning more about the Pratt and Whitney, PW4000-94 high-bypass turbofan engine. This engine is capable of providing a thrust of up to 62,000 pounds-force or 275 kN and it powers the Airbus A310-300, A300-600, Boeing 747-400, 767-200/300 and MD-11 aircraft.
The students will be taught about the design and operations of a gas turbine jet engine and they will have hands-on practice in disassembling, re-assembling and inspecting an engine to determine if it is serviceable for use. They will also learn more about engine health monitoring, engine failure analysis and engine fleet management.
Besides the training, the students will also share their weekend of cultural and leisure activities. To begin, Jeremy will be share with us the activities that they had done in Week 2.
